A FIELD GUIDE TO THE CRAZYGAMES BUILD
Containers, and the wave system
A container is a colour with three slots. The part nobody warns you about is that filling one brings two more.
What a container is
A rounded box with a coloured border and three circles inside. Each circle is one screw of that colour. The colour on the box is the only colour that box will take.
On level 1 the first wave was yellow and red, three slots each. The board carried six screws of those colours plus others (blue, brown, purple) sitting under or beside them.
The wave rule
Containers are not fixed for the level. The moment a container takes its third screw it leaves the HUD, and if that was the last container of the wave, the next pair arrives.
On level 1:
| wave | containers | what happened |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | yellow(3) + red(3) | yellow cleared, then red cleared |
| 2 | blue(3) + brown(3) | blue cleared, brown cleared |
The board keeps its plates and simply loses screws; when a plate loses its last screw it drops out of the frame. Water shows through where plates used to be.
Why the order matters
Because a screw with no container of its colour has to wait in a spare hole, and only four exist. If you take three blues while the blue container has not arrived yet, you have spent three of your four spare holes on screws the level was going to give you a container for later.
The safe habit we used: take only screws whose colour is on screen as a container, and leave every other colour alone until its container appears. The boards are built so that the containers you need are the ones currently on the HUD.
What we have not seen
- Whether a level can have three or more waves.
- Whether a container can have more or fewer than three slots on later levels.
- Whether any container ever takes two colours.
Not tested
- The exact reason the level ends when the board empties: we pressed the green play button and the
LEVEL COMPLETED!screen appeared, so the button may be the trigger rather than the empty board. - Whether the progress bar counts containers or waves.
Reading the HUD at a glance
Three circles equal three screws. Two containers means two colours are live. Anything else on the board is either waiting for a later wave or bait, and telling the two apart is what the next clear will show you.
