A FIELD GUIDE TO THE CRAZYGAMES BUILD
Level 5: a fish, a rainbow, and only three spare holes
The fifth level is the first one that reads as a picture: a fish with a rainbow. It also gives you the least slack so far.
What changes on entry
-
The container row holds orange and magenta, three slots each. This is the first level whose first pair does not include green, yellow or red.
-
There are three spare holes — the smallest number so far, after four on levels 1 and 3 and five on levels 2 and 4.
-
The board is a fish: a large green circle for the body with a yellow circle inside it, an orange triangle for the tail on the left, a brown hexagon beneath, and a rainbow arc of orange, blue and yellow bands on the right.
Why three holes matter
-
The spare holes are the buffer for screws whose container is not on screen. A smaller buffer means less room to park a colour you cannot place yet, so the order of unscrewing matters sooner than in the earlier levels.
-
In the frame we took, one orange screw is already in the orange container and the magenta container is part-way filled, so the first wave is orange and magenta together.
What we did not confirm
-
Whether three is the floor, or later levels go lower.
-
The colour queue beyond the first pair.
How this frame was taken
Frame f01100 of the same recording, some seconds into the level rather than at the instant it opened. One orange screw is already in the orange container and the magenta container is part filled, which is what makes the first wave legible; the board had not yet lost a plate.
Reading the row
Six screws of two colours is all the row can take, against a board with at least eight colours on it. With only three spare holes the difference has to be parked somewhere, so the sequence in which you free screws matters here sooner than it did on level 4.
Not tested
- The colours that replace orange and magenta when each container fills.
- Whether the rainbow bands are three plates or one, and in what order they lift.
- Whether a level can be failed by filling all three spare holes; we have not seen a fail screen.
- Whether the container row ever shows three containers at once on this level.
- What the eye-like yellow circle inside the green body does, if anything.
